The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act regulates health and safety issues in the modern Irish workplace and applies to almost all places of employment. The Act imposes duties on employers and employees alike with a view to reducing the number of occupational injuries and fatalities that occur on an annual basis. Failure to comply with the provisions of the Act can result in prosecution.
